Hello to anybody that's reading this stuff...

And by the way,...
I've mentioned once that I'm not interested in knowing who is visiting this site. But I do have a thing called "tracking" on my websites.

Well,.. my tracking doesn't allow me to see who is visiting. But it doe's give me the ability to see if anybody is visiting at all. And how many...

Today,.. I get to write this webpage out on my new computer. About a week ago I purchased all the parts and built my own computer. It's the first computer I've ever built.

And it wasn't the building part of it that was the hard part. Actually,.. I got all the parts and got it built and running all in the same day.

But the hard part about building this computer for me is: getting all the bugs worked out of it,.. for lack of a better way to say it at this time...

I've been very busy with this computer just dealing with all the little problems that are happening to it.

I've had this window called autoplay popping up at random for no reason that I know of,... sometimes 3 of them will pop up all doing the same thing,... (searching for something and looking like they've found a folder then going away). I got a bunch of updates from Microsoft one day and the autoplays went crazy,.. (popping up and closing at a constant pace).

At this time I've turned off all autoplays for my media drives,.. and I haven't had that problem popping up since. But that's just one of the little problems that I've had.

Man,... that first day that I installed Windows XP I had to re-install it right afterwards because it wouldn't let me back in with the password that I was typing. And I tried a bunch of different passwords too,.. including the one that I had written down because I just put it in there to use for opening Windows on this computer.

Since then I've also had problems like the screen just goes dead like and I've got no mouse or keyboard anymore,.... can't do anything but turn the computer off. I got a software update over at Microsoft that actually caused that one day too,..

Which seems like an odd place to be receiving problems from...

Anyway,....
It's all been a good learning experience though. I went with a AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual core CPU 4400+,.. my motherboard is an MSI K8N Neo4 platinum/SLI which allows me to run 2 graphics cards,... so far I'm just going with one Nvidia NX7800GTX. My ram I went with 2 gigabytes total. That's 1 gig times 2.

I thought I was building kind of a top of the line computer,... but so far I haven't been that impressed with it. It seems temperamental,.. like there's a possibility that it could have some problem pop up at any time.

It doe's play my game HalfLife 2 pretty well though.

Though I got this game called: The Chronicles of Riddick that came packed with my motherboard that I still haven't been able to try out. When I attempt to open it up and play it,.. it changes my screen resolution from 1280 by 1024 to 800 by 600 then tells me that it requires OpenGL support 1.3 or higher in order to play that game. Then it closes.

If Im not mistaken,... I have OpenGL 2.0 support. But they're telling me that if I roll back my Nvidia driver to an earlier version that it may fix that problem,.. the problem with that is though,.. the driver that they are talking about is for Nvidia 6800,.. not the Nvidia 7800,.. and it won't install on my system.

They tell me to contact the vendor and have them install it then,.. I've contacted the vendor and haven't heard back from them yet,..

Well,.. I've got other things that I should do today too,..

So I think I'll leave this page at that...
